Caudalie is a skincare brand that I’ve gotten myself more familiar with over the past year or so. Their iconic Beauty Elixir is one of my favourites, I got the Caudalie skincare duo for my 2017 Sephora birthday gift and I’ve tried a gift set from them. When the brand reached out asking if I wanted to try their Vinoperfect line that includes their newest addition, the Brightening Glycolic Acid Night Cream, I couldn’t have been more excited! The line is also marked “clean” by Sephora which means that the products are free of harmful ingredients.
For the past two weeks I’ve been using Caudalie’s best-selling Vinoperfect line that includes an essence, serum and night cream that aims to brighten the skin, diminish dark spots, hydrate and plump. Keep reading to find out my thoughts on the line!
I’ve never tried an essence before this one so I was really intrigued by the concept of this one (and its beautiful packaging). After cleansing I add a little bit on my fingers instead of a cotton pad since it’s a lighter product and press it gently all over my face. I can instantly feel the essence hydrating my skin but I’m not a fan of the smell. It doesn’t necessarily smell BAD but it doesn’t smell amazing either. However, it’s a great base for your skin before following up with the rest of your skin routine and will literally last you forever! It retails for $50 CAD.
I first tried this serum when it came in my 2017 Sephora birthday gift and is also one of Caudalie’s best-selling products! I used up my entire deluxe sample and was so grateful to receive the full size version. I use this serum right after the brightening essence by using the dropper to put 2-3 drops in my hands. A good tip when applying a serum is to pat it into the skin instead of rubbing.
For this particular serum, I find that the secret to getting the best results is to actually use less. The first couple nights I put too much serum on my face thinking, the more the better, but it left a really sticky feeling that made it hard to apply any cream or moisturizer after and I didn’t notice that much of a difference the next morning. After about a week, of using 2-3 drops each night, I noticed my dark spots going down and my skin just overall feeling much more healthy and glowy. It retails for $89 CAD.
This night cream is the newest addition to the Caudalie Vinoperfect line and is made with ingredients like grapeseed oil, gycolic acid, papaya extract and vine sap viniferine. It’s a very thick hydrating cream so if you have dry skin, you will absolutely love this! Since I have combo-oily skin I dot it around my face and just like the serum, use a little bit less, but I find that I still get a hydrated and healthy glow on my face. It is a tad sticky which isn’t my favourite but since I only use it a night it’s not a big deal since I’m going to straight to bed.
Of the three products I found that the Brightening Night Cream was my favourite in terms of showing results! The next morning I woke up with glowy, hydrated and more bright skin, but never greasy. While this night cream is a bit on the pricier side, (retails for $75 CAD), I definitely think it will last you a long time! I’ve been using it for the past 2 weeks and it pretty much still looks brand new.
After using this line for about 3 days I wasn’t overwhelmed because I found it did break me out a bit on my cheeks but I wanted to keep using it to see results. Because I try so many new skincare items I tend to expect results right way but I’m really glad I kept using the Vinperfect line because after a week or so I started to really notice a big difference in my skin in terms of glowyness (Is that a word?) and my dark spots fading away. In fact, I’ve been skipping foundation and just using concealer to spot treat areas. I will definitely continue to use this line but aim to them as regular products in my night time routine instead of once in a while.
Overall I’d say Caudalie’s Vinoperfect line is a win and with long-term use, you’ll definitely start to see some amazing results on your skin. The serum and new night cream are definitely my favourite of the three!
I’d like to thank Caudalie for sending me the entire Vinoperfect line complimentary for review purposes. As always, my opinions are 100% my own.
