Too Faced is one of my favourite makeup brands but I’ve never tried anything from their Born This Way line. When I saw this concealer come out I was really excited because its claims are very similar to the famous Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It claims to be:
- Weightless and hydrating so skin is never dry or cakey
- Long wearing for 12 hours
- Photo-friendly/No flashback
- Can be used to conceal, contour, highlight, and retouch
This concealer has a slightly thick consistency but I don’t find it heavy on the skin at all. One of my favourite parts of this concealer is that it’s super easy to blend out. I forgot to bring a brush and a beauty blender so I had to use my fingers to blend it out while staying over at a friends place. It blended and looked flawless! – no fingerprint marks at all.
I use the shade Light Beige to highlight and the shade Natural Beige to cover up pimples since it matches my skintone. I even used Natural Beige as a foundation because I was too lazy to actually use one and my skin looked perfect! As for the coverage – there’s a lot of it. I’d say it’s definitely full coverage but a bit less than Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. The overall finish I’d say is a satin-matte. It’s not overly dewy or too dry making it great for all skin types.
I will say it’s very easy to apply too much so instead of applying a full triangle under the eyes (like most people do), I’d dot it and then blend outwards so you don’t end up with cakey under eyes.
Can we talk about how much product you get in this concealer?! For reference, the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer has 0.33 oz of product, the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer has 0.22 oz of product, whereas the Too Faced Super Sculpting Concealer has 0.50 oz – that’s half the amount of a standard foundation!! This concealer will definitely last you a long time and since it’s so full coverage you don’t even need a lot. The doe foot applicator is a little bigger than normal but still small enough to get into the corners of your nose or eyes.
Overall, I highly recommend this concealer! You get a great amount of product for the price (compared to other concealers) and has enough coverage that you can use it as a foundation or to spot conceal. The term “multi-tasking” definitely is a great name for the concealer since I was also able to use it as a foundation.
