It’s the limited edition highlight that everybody has been talking about since it came out. The Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter in collaboration with beauty guru Amrezy! In general, I’m the type of person who doesn’t need tons of highlighters in my collection so when I saw this I wasn’t sure if I needed it. Eventually after scrolling through Instagram and Twitter and seeing everyone’s swatches and pictures, I bought it the day it was released in stores at Sephora. The highlighter retails for $36 CAD and the colour is described as “light brilliant gold”. Is it worth all the hype? Keep reading to find out.
Can we be honest? The packaging is what sold me to get this highlight! Most highlighters are circle shaped but this one is a short rectangle with beautiful gold stars all over the front. It’s also very sturdy and not cheap whatsoever. There’s a clasp that you press to open it up which also stays shut very well. Packaging wise, it definitely stands out from the rest of my highlighter collection with the beautiful wave pattern of the actual highlighter on the inside. The compact also has a mirror on the inside which is actually big enough to use! Whenever I travel I bring this with me because I can use the mirror to actually do a complete makeup look.
The formula for this highlight is so unique! While it’s technically a powder it doesn’t seem like it at all. As much as you can dig your brush into the product, there isn’t a whole lot of kickback to compared to other highlighters AND the wave pattern on the inside doesn’t budge. I feel like you could use this highlight everyday for a year and still never hit pan, there’s so much product!
What I love most about this highlighter is that you can apply it lightly and it comes off very natural. There are a lot of highlighters that are just super glowy and not versatile. If you’re going for that blinding look, you can layer it on and it still looks skin-like. It also doesn’t look like powder on the skin at all.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy highlighter is definitely worth the hype! Even though it’s $36 CAD, it will last you forever, the formula isn’t powdery and it’s very versatile. If you’re thinking of getting this highlight I’d get this ASAP since it is limited edition. The packaging is sturdy and it comes with a mirror (big plus for me). I hope this review helped you decide if you need this highlight!
