Even know we’re in a week into January I still wanted to wish you all a happy new year! Over the past couple months I’ve been testing out different products and have finally gotten around to finishing them. It takes a while for me to do this since I tend to rotate different makeup/skincare/hair products around. Find out which products I loved and which ones flopped for me.

Milani Make It Last Setting Spray

I’ve never had any luck when it comes to drugstore setting sprays but this one takes the cake! The mist is amazing and doesn’t spit the product on you like most sprays. It’s not too fine either and smells great! The setting spray definitely made my makeup last longer throughout the day and I’d say is a good dupe for the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray. My only con is that the bottle is a little small (I went through it kinda fast) but since it’s from the drugstore I will definitely be repurchasing it!

Batiste Dry Shampoo- Deep Dark

This was my first time trying dry shampoo (yes I’m late to the bandwagon) and I really liked this one from Batiste! This particular dry shampoo doesn’t leave a white cast but actually gives you a hint of colour. It made my hair less oily and definitely helped when it came to avoiding wash my hair. It wasn’t anything LIFE CHANGING but for the price I’d definitely repurchase it. The bottle also lasted me a really love time which I loved!

Banila Co. Clean It Zero

This used to be my favourite cleansing balm until I tried the Clinique Take Off The Day Balm. The Clean It Zero formula is very sorbet-like and takes off makeup great! My only concern with this is that it didn’t wash off easily. Basically after rubbing it into my face I’d ALWAYS have to use a makeup remover wipe to take it off which kind of defeats the purpose? I’d try to wash it off and the balm would just sit on my face instead of wash off. If I have to buy makeup wipes on top of the balm to make it work then it’s just a waste of money. Unfortunately, I will not be repurchasing this product.

Sephora Solid Brush Cleanser

This is the best solid brush cleanser I’ve ever used!! Using a solid cleanser goes a long way because you’re only using as much as you need instead of using excess with a liquid cleanser. It’s also great for cleaning your beauty blender or other makeup sponges. The cleanser also has a soft moroccan oil scent which I really like, it’s not too overwhelming. The container also comes with a texturized rubber piece to use to help clean your brushes with is an added bonus. I think my favourite part would have to be how LONG it lasts! I bought it over a year ago and have been using the very last bits of it. Will I repurchase it? I already have.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

This is a hit and miss product for me. I reviewed it here and I’ll be honest at first I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Beauty Elixir but eventually loved it. The mist is so incredibly fine and doesn’t spit at your face. I use this spray more for skincare than to set my makeup. I found that I went through this product super quickly too which is a con for me. The full sized bottle is $59 and for that price I don’t think it’s worth it. If someone gave me the spray as a gift I’d definitely use it but I don’t think I’m going to repurchase it.

And that’s it! Thanks so much for reading this post. I love trying new products but sometimes there are hit or misses so I hope this helped you if you’re interested in any of these products.

    1. Thanks so much! I’m from Canada and I’ve only been able to find Milani in Rexall drugstores, if you’re Canadian I’d look there 🙂
