Can you believe that 2018 is in two days? This year has gone incredibly fast and was definitely one to remember! Since I started my beauty blog this past May I don’t think writing a whole post on the “best of beauty 2017” would be ideal so I’m going to share with you the products I’ve been loving this past month! These products range from makeup to skincare and more.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Green Tea

Everyone always raves about the rose water spray from Mario Badescu but I actually hate the scent of roses. I loved the actual spray but couldn’t get over the smell so I gave it away. When I saw that they were releasing a green tea version I bought it right away! I love the smell and have been spraying it on my face before bed or to set my makeup since my skin has been more on the drier side. I would say this spray is more for skincare rather than to make your makeup last longer.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

This has been a product that everyone raves about and now that I have it, I get the hype! The formula is extremely thick and hydrating. I put it on before bed and the next morning my lips are so smooth and plump. Since it’s so cold here in Canada during the winter I’ve actually been using it during the day as well! This is definitely a staple product I’ll be using every winter from now on.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

Being Canadian it is SO incredibly hard to get the shape tape concealer since it’s only sold at Ulta! While I was on vacation in the US a couple weeks ago I made it a priority to grab this. This concealer is very full coverage, blendable and creamy. I always set my concealer with powder since I wear glasses but if you don’t wear glasses you can probably get away with it. I love this concealer but since it’s so hard to get I think I’m going to use it mostly for special occasions.

Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner

My all time favourite eyeliner is the Kat Von D Trooper liner. Unfortunately being a student I couldn’t afford it anymore and was on the hunt for a dupe. The Eye Booster liner from Physicians Formula is the best dupe I’ve found!! The applicator is a brush tip and applies so smooth on my eyes. It lasts all day and even has a lash growing serum in the formula! I haven’t really noticed a crazy difference in my lashes but I really love everything else about it, including the packaging.

KL Polish in the shade Alyssa

I’m a ride or die fan of Kathleen Lights and when she came out with a nail polish brand I was so excited! I also broke my habit of biting my nails this past month (yay me!) which has made me even more excited to try her polish. The formula is very thick and creamy. You only need two coats for the colour to become truly opaque. After wearing it for a couple days I also noticed that it doesn’t chip as easily as other polishes. She also comes out with new shades for every season so if you’re looking for trendy polishes I’d highly recommend KL Polish!

Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal Extract Toner

I never understood the purpose of a toner until I tried this one. This toner is alcohol free and is so incredibly soothing to put on. It smells amazing and gives my skin such a healthy look! I believe this toner is amazing for all skin types including dry and sensitive. I have combo skin and this toner doesn’t dry me out at all, if anything it hydrates it a bit! As you can tell from the photo my mini one is basically out and I’ll be buying a full sized version very soon.

Sephora Collection Brush #79

My best friend got me this brush from the Sephora Collection for Christmas and I’ve been using it constantly. While it’s called the pro contour, I mostly use it for setting my under eye with powder. It’s the perfect shape and density without putting on too much product. The way it’s tapered also makes it ideal for contouring, it fits right in the hollows of your cheeks!

Becca Cosmetics Highlighter in the shade Opal

This is definitely not a new product but any means but I’ve been wearing it constantly! I used to be into subtle “glow from within” kind of highlights but with the holiday season and the new year I’ve been feeling more adventurous with my makeup! The shade Opal is the perfect colour for a everyday or glam look and is described as a golden opal peal colour.

  1. ugh yessss I have the same struggle with the Shape Tape concealer, since I’m in Australia I literally have to get it shipped over which is so annoying because I bloody love it but the shade I got was one too light 😫😂 I love the consistency and quality of it so I still make it work lol

    1. I’m glad you understand but also sad you’re in the struggle boat with me! When I travel to the US I definitely make it a priority to get more concealer LOL

    1. I’ve been loving Kiehl’s for a couple months lately!! Such amazing quality. I’ll def check that out 🙂 Thanks

  2. I love Mario Badescu rose water, so I’ll have to pick this one up to try next! Also, shape tape is literal magic and I’m OBSESSED! I love a felt tip liner so I’ll have to try the PF brand next! 🖤

  3. I just bought the rosewater spray! I’m definitely going to give the green tea one a try next! (aka next time I stop at Ulta.) Does the green tea help with skin irritation/redness? My skin is HATING me right now.

    1. I find the green tea one is very soothing and calming. I personally don’t suffer from redness but green tea is supposed to be a soothing ingredient so I’d try it out anyway 🙂 Good luck!
