I’ve never tried anything from Caudalie so when I saw this value set while scrolling through Sephora’s website, I was really intrigued! This set is $39 CAD and includes 5 of their best-selling products. I mostly wanted to try the Instant Detox Mask but they don’t sell any travel sized versions so since there was a mini included in this set, it made me really happy. Not to mention all the products come in a good sized makeup bag!
The set includes:
– 1 oz/ 29.6 mL Beauty Elixir
– 1 oz/ 30 mL Micellar Cleansing Water
– 0.5 oz/ 15 mL Instant Detox Mask
– 0.33 oz/ 10 mL Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
– 0.16 oz/ 5 mL Premier Cru The Eye Cream
So what did I think of each of the products? Keep reading to find out.
The nozzle on this is amazing!! The products falls on your face very finely without making it feel like you sprayed a hose on your face. This mist can be used for refreshing the skin and setting makeup. I personally use it more for refreshing the skin after completing my skincare routine. The only way I can describe the scent is “old lady”. I remember smelling it in Sephora and was surprised by the scent but it isn’t too bothersome for me. I think once I run out of the product itself, I’ll put the liquid from another mist into this bottle because of amazing the nozzle is!
MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER
I really liked this micellar water. After using a cotton pad to get rid of my makeup it left my face feeling very soothed and hydrated. The smell of this is amazing!! It’s not extremely overpowering but enough for you to smell it slightly. However, I don’t think I’d ever buy a high end micellar water unless it claimed to get rid of all my pores or some crazy claim like that. I think a drugstore micellar water does just the same thing. Still can’t get over how great it smells. My drugstore favourite would have to be the Garnier Micellar Water which I reviewed here.
INSTANT DETOX MASK
This product is definitely the star of the value set to me! The product itself is a smooth light pink clay that is intended to shrink your pores and detox the skin. I personally don’t have a pore problem so I didn’t notice too much of a difference but it did a great job at getting rid of excess oils. When the mask dried I could actually see the oil being soaked up which was pretty cool. Some clay masks can be over drying but this one was perfect. This is definitely a mask that I would buy the full size version of.
VINOSOURCE MOISTURIZING SORBET
While most moisturizers get thinner as you spread it on your face, I found this one got thicker as I spread it on my face. Not necessarily a bad thing but since this moisturizer is called a “sorbet” I thought it would be a lot lighter. Having combo-oily skin I go towards gel-like moisturizers and this one it better suited for those with normal to dry skin, in my opinion. I don’t think I’ll purchase the full size of this moisturizer but I’m really glad I got to try it because I’ve been eyeing it for a while. In the meantime, I’m definitely going to bring it with me when I travel to use it up.
PREMIER CRU THE EYE CREAM
When reading reviews about this eye cream, most people said this was the star of the set. I really liked the texture of this eye cream, it was very hydrating and didn’t feel heavy at all. However, I didn’t notice any crazy changes to my under eyes like getting rid of my dark circles. I don’t think I’ll buy the full version of this, but good news is that this eye cream has a good amount of product so it’ll last me a while.
I think this set is definitely a great introduction to the brand if you’ve never tried Caudalie before. While the $39 CAD might seem pricey, I think it’s a good price for getting to try a variety of skincare products you might not have tried otherwise. Not to mention skincare is definitely an investment that is always worth it in the long run.
